I just got done working on my SAA paper, which I think is now a full draft. Huzzah. I need to read it sober, though, which I am not right now. I had two drinks out of frustration tonight because I had a bad hair coloring experience that cost me 65 dollars, and more frustration than money can buy. I think this may be my first time trying to write anything academic after having cocktails. I bet it's either genius or pure bullshit. Shall we start a pool?
And then I realized that it's after midnight and I still have to teach tomorrow. Today. I have to teach in the morning. Three times. Hung over. Bah. This will be an awesome way to start the weekend, n'est-ce pas?
At least I'm teaching something I know well: finishing up The Hunger Games tomorrow. Then I'll have to get serious about class prep again for the intro class. Bother.
But I suppose I should try to get some sleep. I'll also need some time tomorrow to cope with the bad hair color situation. Perhaps a cry over my coffee will do me some good. I am going to demand that the stylist fix the hair, by the way. I'm just not sure WHEN it will get done. Do I need to wait for a certain amount of time before it's colored again? For the record, I had almost black hair, which was going significantly gray. Now, it's practically red, despite the fact that I said NO RED. NONE. It looks horrible with my skin tone.
Argh.
But this complaining doesn't = me going to bed. I suppose I should do that. Hm.

It does kind of suck to have a hair coloring disaster, especially as a woman. If you're a guy, you shave it off, and you're good. Women can't do that and are often judged based on things like hair. I hope it gets resolved sooner than later.
I doubt it's recommended to do this, but once I colored my own hair, hated it (like you, too reddish results), and did it over again the next day with a darker brown. It turned out fine, and my hair didn't get fried, fall out, or anything. I wasn't going radically darker or lighter than my natural hair color, and I was using just out of the box color from the drug store, not professional salon color, which might be different chemically. I don't know. But do make the stylist fix it! At least color is easier to fix than a bad cut, especially if the cut is too short.
